We are grateful to have heard recently from our IVEP exchange participant from Nepal, Bisna, who is living and serving in Canada this year. Here’s a small glimpse into his experience so far:
“I am doing good here. I am enjoying serving in the drop-in centre and getting lots of knowledge about Canadian cultures. We also celebrated Christmas for all the members of the drop-in centre and distributed Christmas presents to them. In the drop-in centre, we made Christmas dinner and turkey was the main dish. All the members enjoyed and it was good to convey the message of Christmas and love of Jesus Christ for this world. By working in the drop-in centre, I am getting more familiar day by day and getting to know the members. Sometimes the members share their stories and the life they experience on the street. I have come to know more deeply what it is like to be homeless and rejected by the family members from the members. I am working with people who are mentally disabled, homeless and drug addicts. I am thankful to have a family and people like you who are always there in times of my need. I am thankful to God for you.”
Bisna, thank you for sharing about Nepal with your new friends in Canada, and serving in a way that encourages mutual learning and transformation!
